YOUR
QUESTIONS
Here’s some of my most frequently asked questions. If you’ve got a question I have answered pop me an email at weddings@kayleighstone.com.
How would you describe your photography style?
I’m a documentary photographer. My style is natural, romantic and storytelling-led. I’m a nostalic soul and I looove looking back through photos and memories. I want to capture the laughs, the happy tears, the hidden glances, everything that makes your day uniquely you. So you get all the feels rushing back when you look through your photos.
How do you pose us?
Think of it as more gently guiding you, so everything feels easy and natural. I want to capture your personalitiesĀ
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, to secure your wedding date, I take a Ā£200 deposit with the remaining balance due 21 days before your wedding.Ā
What information do you need from us?
When you book, I send over a welcome pack that includes a questionnaire with all the info I need to start with. Between booking and your wedding date I keep in contact, and a couple of weeks before your wedding we’ll have a final catch-up call.Ā
when is the best time for couple portraits?
While this varies from wedding to wedding and couple to couple, I think its a great idea to split couple portraits into two sessions. One session during your reception and one session in the evening (perfect for golden hour). You won’t feel pulled away from your guests as you’ll only be away in 15 minute breaks, and it gives you a chance to feel more familiar with having your photo taken.
Have you photographed at our venue before?
Not always! While it’s always lovely to return to venues I know, having a photographer who hasn’t shot at your venue can bring a fresh perspective and new ideas. I’d suggest looking at how your photographer handles different lighting scenarios. For example, if your venue doesn’t have a lot of natural light or you’re getting married in winter, you want your photographer to be confident with low lighting and using flash.
How do we receive and share the photos?
You’ll receive your wedding photographs via my online gallery. All your photos are free to download as many times as you like, so you can share it with all your guests so they can grab their faves too! As the client you have special privileges such as viewing hidden sets; and marking photos as private. Private photos are hidden in the public gallery and are only visible to you and I. So if you don’t want your guests seeing your getting ready shots, they don’t have too!
Can we request specific shots?
I love to see your inspo, what you’re sharing on Pintrest and how you envision your wedding! I think it’s so important I’m in the loop so I can manage expectations and deliver your dream wedding photos.
How to you organise group photos effectively?
Groups shots can feel stressful, here’s a couple of things I suggest to make them smooth sailing. 1. Try to limit your groups. As a guide, ten groups can take around half an hour. 2. Nominate one or two people from your wedding party who’ll be in charge of rounding people up (extra points if they know who everyone is). 3. Let guests know if they’re going to be in a photo. If they’re expecting it, I find they’re easier to gather, so less time for you waiting.
Is a couple shoot a good idea?
Absolutely! Especially if you’re feeling a little nervous about having your photo taken, they’re a great way to see how I work and guide you. On your wedding day it won’t feel strange because you’ve already done it. You’ll be naturals! It also gives us the chance to get to know each other a bit better, which is one of my fave parts of the job.Ā
